JERSEY CITY STORYTELLERS

If you live in the New York/New Jersey area, come on over to the Silverman Building, Hamilton Square, Pavonia Street, Jersey City to see a fabulous show. Jersey City is changing fast—it is becoming a thriving cultural scene not to be missed.


Kristin DeAngelis has curated a wonderful exhibit in the Silverman Building with a host of talented artists from the great state of New Jersey. The show is called Storytellers, and displayed with each work of art is a story. Flight of Song, my painting about the practice of bird keeping in China, hangs in the main lobby.


The bird keepers in China have a long tradition of taking their birds for a walk to the park. I find this sadly beautiful. The birds are caged, yet able to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while they hang from the tree branches, and they sing together while the men socialize.
